Day Tour to aswan market

Highlight of the tour:

Daraw camel market

Daraw is a small town situated between Aswan to the north and KomOmbo to the south. It is famous for its camel market for trading camels that are brought from Sudan; they used to be brought in caravans on foot along the 40 days market (Darb el-Arbaein) but now mostly trucked. Merchants from many parts of Egypt come to haggle for the best camels at the cheapest price possible. Camels are destined in most cases for slaughter as camel meat is preferred especially for making Kofta (meatballs). The place is flyblown, hot and dusty. The market days are really colorful. Dressing appropriately is  must as it is not a tourist resort there and also to avoid distracting the animals.
